Icon Tutorial

First Tutorial.


Very simple. Using layers and that's about it.



OK first you're going to take a screen cap. I used a CSI cap from the grainy days of CSI.

Second, resize your picture, we're making an icon here so 100x100.

You have:

Third, duplicate your base and set screen to 100%. You want it pretty light. In this case, I duplicated it twice more.
You get:

Fourth, make a new layer and fill it with #87C0E7. Set to burn at 100%.
You get:

Fifth, make a new layer and fill it with #34AB05. Set to soft light you can keep it at 100% OR if it's TOO green, lower it to 50%. I set mine to 50%.
You Get:

Lastly, AGAIN make a new layer and fill it with #F4A4E6. Set it to soft light and set it at 100%.
You get:

You're done. You can add brushes if you'd like etc etc.

SEE told ya it was easy!

*note* result will vry with the darkness of the picture, but they usually turn out similar.
