Rookie Blue Season Finale

First of all, I have to say i'm kind of ticked off that the "Two Hour Season Finale" was actually just two episodes played back to back. It wasn't two hours, it was one. The first hour episode was honestly forgettable too, which made this worse.

The first hour was about a girl who gets drunk and commits suicide while pregnant. Also, her mom is suffering from post dramatic stress disorder and totally treats her kids like crap. Basically this was a stand alone episode with nothing really pushing the plot forward. Some cute moments involving Dov and Chris's bromance and Andy questioning whether she can do the job or not. But, other then that, this episode felt really long and out of place. Had this episode been number 4 or 5, it would have been believable.

The ACTUAL finale was kind of like a mirror of the first episode. Andy and Chris bust this guy that was going to buy drugs that would have taken down a whole crime family. However, Sam volunteers to go undercover as this guy so they can still bust him. Andy volunteers to go as his Girlfriend. In the mean time, Gail and Chris check out an abandoned building that is said to be run by the guy they are trying to bust. While exploring it, Chris gets stabbed and he and Gail get locked in. To make a long story short- Andy and Sam get split up. Andy realizes that they will ID him as a cop and calls in the calvary just in time to save him. And, as the calvary look around the building, they find Gail and Chris. Chris is fine after they take him to the hospital.
As far as finales go, I don't think this one ranks to high up there. Yes, there was a lot of shipper fanservice for LukexAndy and SamxAndy fans. And yes, there was some very tense moments like the end where you don't know if Sam is dead or not. However, if this actually was a two hour episode, this would have played out better. Instead it felt jammed together and a the tension is missing in a lot of scenes where there should have been tension. For example, Chris is bleeding out from the stab wound. However, it was never really addressed past he lost a lot of blood and would be fine. And the Sam and Andy undercover thing was REALLY short. It should have been the focus considering Andy is the main.

The finale wasn't bad by any measure. However, when put against other finales, this doesn't really hold water. And that's not good for a series that's only in it's first season.
