Hallo! It is 20.46 on a Saturday and I am sat in my living room making tropical birds out of Fimo modelling clay. Yerss. . . Well they're for my book with props, which is a story about a tiger called Augustus who loses his smile and goes looking for it, and finds that the world is a beautiful place that makes him smile. I love it! I'll be attempting to make the tiger out of plaster bandage in a bit. Interesting!
So yes, I'm not exactly living it up this weekend. But, I am very tired - I was serving tea and toast to drunk students till 4am, and not home till 5.15am, so going out tonight as well would basically count as suicide. I love doing Tea and Toast, you get into some really interesting conversations, and all the people who come in seem to be at the happy friendly chatty stage of drunkeness, which is by far the best. Not that you have to get drunk to be happy, friendly and chatty, of course!
I realise that yet again I have not updated for ages. Will and Lulu came to visit two weekends ago, which was lovely, because they haven't come to see me in Bath before, and I hadn't seen Will since Easter. I miss my big bro! (and the little ones too, come to think of it!) I'm planning on going to see him at half term.
And then last weekend Adam came down, which was just fantastic! We had a practically perfect weekend, really enjoyed the time together, and spent time with friends as well, so we're not annoyingly exclusive! ALSO, got the ring, YAY, it's stunning. :-) And went to the Thermae Bath Spa, which has a roof top pool and very sylish steam rooms and state of the art lockers with micro chips to open them, all very la-di-da! But it was lovely and relaxing after a hard day's shopping.
The only problem with Adam coming down was that I very quickly got used to the idea of him being in Bath, because since we met here, it does just seem normal for him to be here, and now it's SO much worse! But, I have some friends who are going out when one lives here and the other in New Zealand, so, in comparison, we're fine!
Ummm. . . what else goes on? Well Beth is coming down to visit me on Thursday, which is fab! Ooh, must find a restaurant. I've decided I need to carry a small notebook with me AT ALL TIMES because people tell me things that I need to remember quite a lot, and then by the time I've got to somewhere I can write it down, I've forgotten at least one thing. So today I bought a miniature notebook and miniature pens, and I'm ready to go! (note: write down about finding a restaurant. Oh drat, where's that notebook. . .)
Right, I'm off to watch A Knight's Tale. Ooh, on the subject of films, today I saw a lot of people in Bath dressed up to film what looked like something Austenian. It was really clever the way they'd made the street look all right as well, with neat little boards over the modern windows. I love living in Bath!
OK, now I really am off. Bye!
