Burning her fingers, Aoko put the pot out from the fire and started to look for her cell phone desperately. Maybe someone wanted to rent the room.
She had already a few calls about it, but most of the people wanted miracles. Like better location, bigger rooms, other furniture, more enjoyable colour of walls, more toned colour of walls... Gah... What the hell they had expected for that price... A Buckingham Palace?
She answered the call.
The voice on the other end of the line was male. It sounded very nice, but it had something that made her shiver just by listen to him. She confirmed that the ad was still actual and when she tried to set some date when he could come and see the room, she heard that he was very close to her place, and he could be here in no time. She agreed happily thinking that if he would like the room the faster he would see it, the faster he would move in.
But when the doorbell rang, and she went to answer it, she saw herself in the mirror. No wonder that when Aoko she opened it and saw the handsome young man standing behind them, she felt a bit... embarrassed.
“Eeek... Good evening.” she greeted him, sheepishly. “Please, come in.”

Okay, maybe not...to be honest the first word that had actually been 'Weird' then he though she also looked cute, with the messy hair and her rosy cheeks.
"Ah...thank you." Once inside, he introduced himself with a stretched hand. "A pleasure to meet you, my name is Kuroba Kaito." He grinned, charmingly. And of course, like he always did with the ladies, a red rose puffed from his outstretched hand surprising the woman in front of him. "Thank you for taking me in after such a short notice. I hope I'm not disturbing you or anything..."

She blushed even more at the sight of the rose he was offering her. She took it with a smile and... It was the end of her cuteness. She shook his still outstretched hand in very unfeminine manner. The grasp of her hand was strong (for a girl) and certain.
“Nakamori Aoko.” she introduced herself still smiling. “Ah... Don't worry about it, if I don't have time, I wouldn't agree for your proposition.” she said with a certain logic.
“And thank you for a rose.”
It might be not the right thing to do, but Aoko wasn't too sure what she should do with the flower, so she put it in her hair.
She lead him to the vacant bedroom, opened the door and turn on the lights.
“Here is the room.” she said and sighed. “It doesn't have the size of a runway, so I can understand if you don't like it and decided that you don't want it.”
The truth was the second bedroom was actually quite big, for an one person. It was enough place for double bed, not so small wardrobe, few bookcases and a desk. There was even a balcony door, leading to the big balcony which was stretched for the whole wall. It meant this was the same balcony Aoko was using, since her bedroom was next to this one, and since her balcony door was leading on it too. Sometimes this was also a problem for the potential roommates.
“So, what do you think?”
Reply
Huh...interesting.
He welcomed her and then followed the girl to the room. The room wasn't big per se, but it was comfortable enough for one person to stay there and Kaito wasn't a man who needed luxury to be comfortable.
He walked inside the room and checked the balcony. He didn't know why the idea of sharing the balcony with the girl was funny...or more like interesting...
He stayed a few more seconds contemplating the place. The bulding was located far fron the center of town, which was good because he was programming to make his heists on that area; and while KID needed to be near the center of town, Kaito was better very far from there. Moreover, the neighbourhood looked really paceful and nice.
He finally made up his mind.
"I like it, very much. I'll take it, and if you don't mind I would like to move in today." He smiled.

It looked that men really didn't have that many things like girls used to have. To be honest Aoko had never been living with a guy. Her roommates were usually girls, which was very useful sometimes. Especially when she needed to borrow some nice evening dress for a party in her workplace, or when she had troubles with taming her hair for the said party.
But she thought that having a male roommate also had some pros. At least it's someone who she could ask to throw the spiders away. She didn't like spiders too much, and most of her roommates were afraid of them as hell.
“But if you could really move today, it's fine with me. I'm asking you for a dinner then.” she smiled, knowing that if he was moving all hiss stuff to her apartment, he probably wouldn't eat proper dinner. “And I can help you after dinner too.”
Reply
"You are invinting me to dinner?" He asked, surprised. That was the second time this girl surprised him. Wasn't he the one supposed to invite her to eat?
Kaito grinned. He was starting to like this girl a lot, she wasn't like the rest. "Thanks, I appreciate it. And you don't need to help me, with the dinner is enough."

“And we are roommates now.” she smiled. “Isn't it a great occasion to get to know a bit the person we're going to live for now with. I mean it's the same for me as it's for you I guess.”
“So I leave you for now. You can unpack and take a shower if you want to refresh. The bathroom is on the left. I'll call you when it be ready...” she was about to leave, when she thought about the one more thing.
“I hope you like curry?” she asked with uncertainty.
Reply
"Yes, you are right. Then I'll go unpack my stuff. And don't worry, I love curry." he was going to head back towards the room when he paused and turned back. "Do you need help with cooking?" He asked after taking a better notice at her looks.

She went back to the kitchen and got back to her cooking, while her thoughts was trying to analyze the last half hour.
Now she had a roommate.
A man.
A very handsome man, if she should be honest.
And then still something with him was strange. Like the fact he had only one bag with himself. Normally people carry more stuff to their new rooms. Clothes, books, cosmetics, movies, CD's... It wasn't possible that he could keep it all only in one bag.
She tried the sauce.
Perfect.
It took only few minutes to prepare the table at the living room and after that time, she knocked to his door.
“Dinner is ready.” she announced, while taking off her apron.
Reply
"Ok, I'll go right away." He extended his hand to whipe with his thumb a bit of flour on her cheek and with a smile grazing his lips, he headed back to his room to put away his empty bags.

And it wasn't only because of the embarrassment that she had a smudge of flour on her cheek. If he was old, ugly and unkind, she wouldn't be blushing that intensive.
She quickly moved to the bathroom, just to wash her face at least. She didn't want him to see her embarrassed during the dinner.
And after another quick glance she decided to change her pants to less outstretched. She wasn't too much for a fashion but even she knew that it wasn't the part of the look you would want to show to any man. Not only to this one who had that gorgeous blue eyes.
She also tried to pinned her hair but they remained immovable.
So that when she went to the living room he was already there.
“So okay, let's eat.” she said, smiling... And then she looked at him suspiciously. “But you aren't the serial killer who attacks people with ax, right?”
She looked at him with a hope, that he deny the fact being serial killer. She didn't realized how naïve she was in that moment, she also didn't realized that it looked somehow cute. That girlish naivety while she was blushing (again), and her less messier look(if you didn't count her hair).

...he laughed...A LOT...
Thank God he had already sat at the table or he would be rolling on the floor by then.
"D-Don't you think y-you should have a-asked that before? hahahahaha!!!" He chocked between his laughs. After he calmed down, he looked at her and saw her blushing a lot with a killer glare directed towards him.
He froze. His gaze firmly stuck in her deep blue orbs with some sort of admiration. She had a certain gleam in her eyes strickly produced by the fiery emotions she was having from being embarrassed. Her deep blush only increased the intensity her eyes were radiating, leaving him completely dumbstruck.
He caught himself before she noticed he was staring and shook his head. 'What's wrong with me?' He coughed and put on his best friend. Poker face.
"Ah...sorry." He apolgised, with the most sincere smile he could pull. "Don't worry, I'm not a serial killer with an axe, I promise. I'm a very honest person who has the bad luck of not owning a place of his own and who has to travel a lot, but that's all." Well, at least that was true. Except for the honest part, unless the law had changed and being an international wanted thief was an honest job...
'No, it's not a job. More like a promise.' He mentally shook himself. Even though those guys are gone, I still need to find that stone for my parents. They deserve it, so no one will ever find it.'

“Just with a chainsaw.” she muttered imitating (very poorly) a male voice, looking at him with her eyes narrowed.
But his smile, when he had apologized, could melt every girl's heart melt. She then regained her kind nature quite quickly.
Aoko sighed with relief, noticing that this annoying heat started to disappear from her cheeks. Geez she really shouldn't blush that much. He was just a guy.
Well true it was something in the way he was acting which made him look a bit mysterious. Like his eyes. They barely showed any emotions. Sure they seem smiling with him, while he was laughing or looked at her with polite interest when she had been speaking before. But it was just like a butterfly touch of the real emotions.
Maybe it was just carefulness towards her, the stranger, or maybe it was something more behind it. She wasn't sure right now, but she wouldn't be herself is she didn't decide to try to solve it.
But for now, she planned rather normal conversation.
“Any bad habits I should know about?” she asked before she took a bite of the food.
Reply
Bad habits, huh? How could he put that? Is stealing a bad habit? Not for him. How about taking just a small peek at girls while they were changing?
And he would have lifted her skirt by now to take a peek at her panties, but he didn't think that was a good idea. He had just moved in and he still hadn't paid for this month, so he could get easily kicked out and that wasn't a nice idea.
"Nop, none at all." He replied with a smile. "The only bad thing about me is that sometimes I have to work at night. But that's all." Let her know that for now...she'll eventually start to discover all of his bad habits later.

For all these years when Aoko had been sharing her flat with girls, she had learned that every one has at least a few bad habits. Some of them had been really annoying, other hadn't, but they had existed.
She then was sure he also had to have some. Oh... if she only knew that he was considering pros and const of peeking at her underwear, she probably would rethink the decission of allowing him to live under the same roof... especially that her weaknes was lacy underwear...
"Oh I guess I'll find them out in practice." she said cheerfully. "In my case I have to warn you that I can be easily distracted, so don't be surprised if you'll find a cup of coffe under the showe or TV remote in washing machine." Aoko laughed nervously and blushed.
"How's the food?" she changed the subject quickly.
Reply
Distraction. He needed a distraction, now.
"Uh, food is awesome!! You really are a good cook for someone who gets easily distracted." He teased. "So, does that mean I'll even find your underwear scattered all over the place? Not that I mind to find some lacy bra over the couch but I would like to be warned first." Oooh...and there was that cute blush over her cheeks. Could it be that he really enjoyed teasing this girl just to see that reaction?
