Drinking a cup of nice, sweet sencha tea, Aoko once again read the message Keiko had just sent her. Seriously, calling Kaito Prince Charming... what was she thinking?
She was in the kitchen, shifting on the chair, to find the most comfortable position to think. She liked to spend her time in the kitchen. The furnitures reminded her home. This was very warm place, so full of things that Aoko had brought from home, that every place she laid her eye on, awaken another memory. Usually she loved to enjoy all these snapshots of her family that these mementos were bringing, not tonight though. She was too deep into her present concerns to think about the memories, but even then, being in this place, made Aoko felt her mom's reassuring presence just next to her. For a moment she was even sure, that she felt a strange weight on her arm, as if her mom would put a hand there, trying to calm her down.
“Now, what is the problem?” she asked herself aloud.
'I kissed him, isn't it obvious?' she answered ( ... )

With arms stretching at odd angles, he made his way towards the bathroom not noticing the girl sitting at the table. Or maybe not wanting to notice her yet in excuse to quickly put his thoughts in order if she suddenly asked him about their kiss from last night.
Should he pretend like nothing happened? 'It was just a little kiss you silly girl!'
Should he tell her what he was trully feeling? 'Actually Aoko, I think I'm starting to like you more than just as a friend.'
Or should he tell her the reason why she wouldn't want to be with him? 'Aoko, I'm not who you think I am...'
Either way, nothing he choose to do was going to end up well for both of them. And the third option was still to risky to tell.
He was in a dead end. And it was entirely up to her now.

'She wants to talk about something? Could it be...?' He could feel a slight shiver running down his back. 'But, what if it's not what I'm expecting? Or what if it is? Then what should I...do?'
Kaito spited the remaining toothpaste, rinsed out his mouth and cleaned the rest with the hand towel.
"W-What is it about?" He asked, also loud enough so she could hear him with the door still closed. It felt easier to talk if he wasn't staring directly at her.

Aoko came closer to the door, not wanting to shout the whole speech she had prepared before, it seemed a bit too embarrassing to yell it that the entire world cold hear it.
She opened her mouth to start with planned 'We both are guilty because of this accidental kiss...', but her thoughts wandered a little bit.
Actually she still didn't know why did he escape like his life depended on it. Without a word. He acted so strange, going to sleep so suddenly. What was wrong with him?
She might not be the gods' gift to men, she might not be the skilful one, especially considering that it was her first kiss, and he might not like it. But was it enough to escape just like that?
A strange suspicion crossed her mind, and she was way too confused to let it for herself. Without a second thought Aoko spluttered.
“Kaito, are you a gay?”

"WHAT???! Aoko what the hell gave you that idea??! First strip dancer and now GAY?? What do I need to do to show you that I don't swing that way??"
His mind was already giving him some options but none of them were advisable if he wanted to keep things as they were...but what his mind hadn't registered yet, was that he was now facing Aoko and talking was going to be so much harder now.

'Sick situation'?
Kaito couldn't belive what he was hearing. Was it really her first kiss? He couldn't decide if he should feel like a jerk or be glad to be her first.
"I'm...I'm sorry I took your first kiss." Kaito said, not completely paying attention about her comment on breakfast being ready. "I didn't know. But I don't think..."
'I don't think it was bad. I don't think it was a sick situation. I don't think we should have stopped. I don't think we should forget...'
"I don't think we should stop being friends because of this, right?" He smiled.
Yup, he was such a coward.

She was happy, wasn't she?
He did say what she wanted to hear the most. This kiss hadn't change anything between them. They could still be two friends, sharing a flat and having fun together.
Then why did she feel like she was lying to herself? Like the relief she felt was only covering the feeling of disappointment and longing? Why did she, all of sudden, stop to understand her own feelings?
It wasn't only the scientist's thing that she wanted to find the answers. She just... needed to find them, because no matter what, Aoko always loved and respected the truth. And Kaito was her friend, he deserved honesty. But how she could be honest with him, if she didn't know what the truth was?
“You don't have to be worried about that 'first kiss' thing.” she answered almost immediately, funny all her thinking lasted a fraction of second. “People used to make a really big fuss over it.” she added in very scientific manner ( ... )

Kaito's stomach decided to speak loudly on it's own accord at that moment, making him realize that he was indeed hungry. Apparently, it didn't care what was going on with Kaito and the girl in front o him, only that food was required ( ... )
