We need to buy a new vaccum for the office and for home. I've been pining over a Dyson but have no idea which model is best. Anybody have one that would like to share good and bad?
We bought the DC17, the new full-size upright model, a few months ago. It is crazy, but I really LOVE vacuuming now, and I absolutely hated it before. I'm still ending up with a tank full after one to two rooms, but I consider that a good thing b/c it's obviously getting the house much cleaner!
Likes: The bagless canister. The five year warranty. The overall performance. The purple and red color combo. :)
Dislikes: Hmm. I don't have any for the vacuum itself, but . . . I think the difference between the models, except for the price, usually isn't demonstrated well in stores. We had looked at Dysons when we weren't really serious about buying, but when we WERE serious, we still found it a bit confusing . . . The Best Buy salesman told us that the DC14's were being discontinued b/c of a flaw concerning the suction . . . yet I still see them for sale so I wonder if that was really true. We tried the DC07 and the DC17 in the store (the "Ball" versions, I didn't like b/c I found them a little more difficult to maneuver) . . . and the 17 seemed much stronger than the 07. BUT, this could be biased b/c perhaps the 07 had seen more customer abuse. You definitely want to vacuum in the store!! And like a previous commenter said, definitely use that Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off mailer coupon!!
