Day One: Favorite lead female character
This is an exceedingly difficult question. I have loved many lead female characters (but some of them I know I'll be able to get to in later questions).
I will go classic/old school and say my girl Buffy.
I love Buffy for lots of reasons. She was a guiding light for me when I was a confused and hurting teenager. She gave me strength, confidence, and courage. She reminded me to stay funny in times when it was hard to remember how to smile. There's a year or so in my life when I was managing to keep going another day all because I needed to see the next episode - she gave me a reason to live when I was having a hard time finding ones of my own. She gave me time.
In season 6 and 7, when a lot of other people had a harder time loving her, I loved her even more, because I understood that Buffy, hurting and depressed and uncertain, so well. And she always kept going and she was loved and I loved and love her, very much.
