1. Naima Adedapo - What’s Love Got to Do With It
Naima has a COEXIST shirt. Looks cute on her. Didn't recognize the song until the got to the chorus. Her interpretation of this song didn't thrill me and her singing wasn't terrific. Loved all of the performance outfit except for the shoes.
2. Paul McDonald - I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues
Some nice moments but it didn't all come together for me.
3. Thia Megia - Colors of the Wind
She was such an adorable little baby and kid. Awww. Her mom is really likable, too. I wasn't a fan of her performance last week, but this week worked a lot better for me.
4. James Durbin - I’ll Be There for You
Brought the energy up. Good performance. He's got a lot of talent. And I find his exuberance endearing. I like James more each week, I think.
Steven Tyler doing the gendered behavior policing was something that I could have done without (it doesn't kill a little boy to play with dolls, Steven).
5. Haley Reinhart - I’m Your Baby Tonight
Ah, I love her voice. I'm not familiar with this song - I couldn't understand a lot of the words, because they were pretty fast at times. But I just love the tone of her voice. I agree with Steven that I would love to hear her sing some good blues or maybe classic rock & roll.
6. Stefano Langone - If You Don’t Know Me By Now
Really enjoying this one! Wasn't as thrilled by last week's, so I'm glad he bounced back. The last note was a little iffy, but the rest was great. Excellent job. Very nice. And good song choice.
I think J. Lo might have a crush on him. It would be hard to blame her; he's cute.
7. Pia Toscano - Where do Broken Hearts Go
My mom has a necklace like Pia's. Possibly several. It's her kind of necklace.
She has a very strong voice, as always. Liked hearing her sing something that had a beat with it. Great singer, not the greatest song.
8. Scotty McCreery - Can I Trust You With My Heart
Aw, bitty Elvis! That's precious. I want him to sing an Elvis song now! Ah, love his voice and he knows exactly what direction he wants to go with it. And that song is just going to cement the fangirl love for him (did you hear those screams?). Some great vocal choices.
9. Karen Rodriguez - Love Will Lead You Back
Her outfit really makes me think she should be singing, like, in the new Star Trek (the hair was very cute). I liked her this week.
10. Casey Abrams - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Hey, he's playing his instrument! Ha, Casey just brings such a spirit to whatever he brings out. Even when the vocals aren't quite there, he brings so much to the stage.
I thought that Paul didn't play because they weren't allowed to play yet, but obviously they were, so I'm baffled as to why Paul didn't play guitar.
11. Lauren Alaina - I’m the Only One
Stronger than last week. Good job.
12. Jacob Lusk - Alone
I wish he'd kept a little more of the quiet part before he lunged into the chorus. Liked the ending.
Favorites: James, Stefano, Pia, Scotty, Casey
Who Should Go Home: Actually, tough, since I didn't really dislike anyone this week. I do think that either Naima or Paul had the weakest performance; I'm pretty sure Paul won't be going home. It'll probably be Haley or Karen or maybe Naima. I love Haley's voice, but she's not singing a more consistent type of song to build herself an audience.
