Wow, this is the first vid that I've made in over a year. It makes sense, though, because I haven't been hooked into media fandom again until recently. I was left a bit adrift by the end of RTD's Doctor Who and, though I do love Smallville, I don't get as fannish about it as I have many other shows (though it is the only show that I kept watching).
I think part of it is because I've been recovering from a rough time. Winter 2009/10 was tough for me. I moved out of my ex's place (which was good, because I was emotionally dying there, but it was hard because part of me wasn't ready to leave) and I was having some depression issues and trouble with school. I had latched onto Kris Allen's music and got into Kradam fandom but... I'm not good at vidding RPF stuff. Too much to deal with, canon-wise, and a lot of the source tends to be low-quality.
I asked for suggestions about what show to pick up and I'm so glad that I went with The Vampire Diaries, because I have been finding it so inspirational. I have about four or five other vid thoughts for the show. This one won out first, mostly because of "The Descent" - that episode showcased Damon's character and really made Kelly's "Addicted" feel so much like him to me. Damon falls in love like he's going to die from it (and other people will, too). This is not always pretty to watch, but I do find it interesting.
One of the things that I thought about a lot while making this vid was a Buffy quote. It's from a fifth season episode called "I Was Made to Love You":
Buffy: "Is she dangerous?"
Warren: "She's only programmed to be in love."
Buffy: "Then she's dangerous."
