Three things.
Item 1:
Alan Shore, the central character of Boston Legal, is now my favorite fictional lawyer in the history of ever (definitely surpassing Lindsey because, love him as I do, boy did not make the best lawyer ever). He's ruthless in the pursuit of winning his cases. He's funny as all hell. He actually has an amazing sincere and honest touch with people, considering what he's willing to do in his professional life. He is, in short, totally cool. I have been reading up on the background of Boston Legal and have learned that his character started on the last season of another show (The Practice) and his character was so popular that Boston Legal was born. I understand this completely, because he's, dude, amazing.
Item 2:
Denny Crane is a highly amusing guy. And I find his friendship with Alan to be pretty neat -- they seem to be the most alike when it comes to dealing with cases, but I hear that they also have some interesting differences that I look forward to finding out more about. Also, he apparently guest-starred on the same season of The Practice that introduced Alan Shore, which means that I really want to see that season of that show.
Item 3: Interesting editing! In particular, I love how they enter a scene by giving us about three really fast closeups of objects in the scene before taking to the big picture. It's a technique that I haven't seen much before (if ever) and I find it very intriguing and effective.
In short, I have totally found a new show to love. Yay!
