a progression

12/10/2009:
Professor Jerry pulls me aside and asks if I have any interest in stage management.

01/09/2009:
Jerry offers again and assigns me position of ASM for Scapin and SM for the one-acts.

Being the ASM for Scapin (a mainstage) has set me up with plenty of experience to be an ASM in music recitals (done in the theatre), which will then set me up to be a Stage Manager in the music recitals, all of which will boost the Stage Manager position of an actual one-act-play ( a little play), and that will set me up with a freaking ton of actual experience and groundwork to suggest, if I talk to Jerry and Don (theatre producer) and tell them how much I'm really enjoyed stage managing (because I am - oh I really am, I've already started being the Stage Manager for the one-act and even though it is a ton of paperwork oh my gosh I love it, i can just put some music on and fill in spreadsheets with names and dates, and it's so organized it makes me glee. I enjoy it, which surprised me...but not so much. It's so much fun), then because one of the three main stage managers is graduating, and we need three stage managers for three mainstage plays per year, that sets me up as a prime candidate to stage manage a mainstage play next year. Which puts me up a step further as an ideal candidate to be hired by the theatre department. Because I have a skill and a drive and even the experience that they want. Which means I would be paid to do this.

5~! And then I got ANOTHER email saying that applications for SPU Theatre Department Student Employment were now being accepted. They're due next Friday. UM GUESS WHO ALREADY FILLED OUT AND TURNED HERS IN. \o/ I WANT THAT JOB. If it's first come first serve it is mine.

5/05/2009:
Entry: 3~! Professor Don asked me specifically today if I had applied for a theatre job yet and then made a little "hmmm" noise when I told him I already had. It was a very pleased hmm too. Hmmhmm...

3~! I had my advisor meeting with Professor George today, and though I wish it had been longer, I got a lot out. He was very sympathetic about my needing to end piano lessons, and when I told him that's going to result in a scholarship loss for me, looked alarmed and asked me if I had a theatre scholarship - then before I could answer proceeded to tell me that he could hook me up with one, the department would do it because I am a "keeper" and they expect great things from me and are fully expecting me to surpass Elizabeth, who nobody can stop complimenting every time they talk about her. asf;lkjfdsa it just gave me such a warm, fuzzy feeling. I love him and I love the department and I love the stones of the building. I am so in the right place it's amazing.
