Hey guys. It's been a while, but I've been spending more time online doing what I want and less time concentrating on Chinese. -_- Bad, I know, but I miss my old life. The one where I had nothing to do and would waste hours in front of the computer clicking "refresh" on my FaceBook and LiveJournal tabs just to keep me occupied. Ugh.
My new cell phone came in the mail last week, and I love it. It's gorgeous. It's shiny and new and sleek and great. It plays MP3 ringtones and even though my old phone did the same, I'm actually using audible ringtones on this phone just because I want to. Somehow it feels different XD Anyway, my current ringtone is Gara Gara GO!! because I'm obsessed with that song right now (it's always in my head) and my phone just look very Gara Gara GO!!. I can't explain it. The thing I hate the most is that even though I can completely customize my ringtones (as in put MP3 files in my user profile folders to use them), but I can't customize my text message tones. There are 10 tones and a silent option for the message tone, but I can't add my own! Argggg. I've tried everything, roaming through all my phone options to see if I can change the message tones, transfering tones from my comp to my phone, blah blah blah. Nothing works >< And maybe I wouldn't care so much if I hadn't found so many great text message tones. Like one in Chinese that actually says "You have a text message" in Chinese. Or a really funny one of this guy saying "O M G, a text." Or the other one that's this black girl and she's like "Message....Message!...Message, HO!" Lol. XD
This past Tuesday, I had dinner with Hu Chengchue, one of the Chinese guys who lived in Foster last semester. I saw him last Friday at Fortune Cookies, and that was only because I looked in the window and saw this other cute Asian guy I had seen at the SRSC the week before. (Sounds creeperish?) Haha, well then I looked in again and saw Chengchue, then one of my teachers who was with me said I should go talk to him because then maybe he would introduce me to his friend. He didn't, but at least Chengchue and I are becoming friends now :) I can meet his other friends later. lolol
Anyway, when we had dinner, we met at the library at 6 and went to Asuka, this really good sushi place. We were there for OVER 2 HOURS eating and talking. But that was also partly because he urged me to order 2 rolls of sushi, then he also ordered rice, noodles, two plates of roast duck, dumplings, and some other thing that I don't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was waaayyy too much food XD It was really cool to have such a long conversation all in Chinese, though. It was kind of like an assessment for me as to how much my listening comprehension and fluency have improved. And he even said I've improved a lot. The best part was that I could understand ~90% of what he was saying, and he talks pretty quickly. So we finished eating, then I took him back to his apartment (where he said I could come visit him and hang out :D ) and then I went home and started my homework. Oops. XD
Lunch at Chow Bar today! I love Fridays, because we get free food that is not from Wright and then can relax with a movie. Chyesssss. I can't wait to go to Asia and have really REAL bubble tea <3
Only 2 more weeks left. Then I'll really know where I stand.
