Am I alone in thinking that the uproar over Serena Williams' U.S. Open outburst is unwarranted? She apologized and she was fined. That should be the end of it.

Hasn't this happened many times before in professional sports?

I think it's just because she's a girl and she wins everything else that alot people think she shouldn't have made such a fuss. I am of the notion yeah, she probably shouldn't have thrown the raquet but she's an athlete. She IS competative. (HOW many times has she had to go against her own sister?) It's SPORTS. Things get intense. Outbursts ARE apart of the game. It's going to happen. When it does as long as it doesn't get anyone else hurt, who cares? It makes for interesting play by play later! And besides, it's not she's going around doing that EVERY match.

So yes, in my long windedness, you are not alone. lol
