Surgery!
Rhett called me at 5 this morning to tell me Mom went into surgery. Then Dad called me at 6. Apparently he didn't know Rhett called me.
Reid just called me about 10 minutes ago to tell me that she just got out of surgery. So she did it! She got the lung transplant. When I was talking to my Dad, he was saying how lucky they got, because sometimes people go up there 3 or 4 times before it's the real thing. Mom got it on the first try! She's awesome like that.
I guess now she'll be in the hospital for about a week, and then when she leaves the hospital, they need to stay up in Madison for a few weeks to make sure everything's ok. Shorter travel time, stuff like that. It'll be a while before she's fully recovered and everything's totally ok, but she got through a super hard part.
