Call me morbid, call me pale...

On Tuesday, I had a Julie-Morse-Told-Me-To-Watch-These Movie Marathon of "Stand By Me" and "Grease". "Stand By Me" was wicked good. Rob Reiner is fucking awsesome. I daresay I've never seen a Rob Reiner movie that I didn't love (as I left after about twenty minutes of "Alex and Emma"). River Phoenix is so good in it! Julie, you are so right. And the rest of the cast as well. It's really funny and sweet. Sort of weird though, because off hand I can't think of many other adult movies that are entirely about kids. But it's definitely worth seeing by everyone. "Grease"...well, I knew exactly what I was getting into well before I rented it (though the animated part threw me off). It's cute, and fun. And Stockard Channing is especailly good in it. But it's not something I'd watch over and over. The angel for "Beauty School Dropout" was a huge "Wha?" moment. And the ending was sort of weird. She dumps him for going farther than she wants, he regrets it...and then she becomes a skank in order to make the relationship work? It's his fault! What the hell? Incidentially, what ever happened to Olivia Newton-John? And did Travolta sing his own songs? Finally in movie news, Joan Cusack remains adorable in "Grosse Point Blank".

Zoe has sun poisoning. Instead of being concerned for her, what do I do? I focus on trying to pull the "Farenheit 9/11" thing together and grumble about how her not spening the night with Molly will keep me from going. Great, Basil. Real compassionate. I really want to do that, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to stay home with Zoe while Calvin's at work. Oh well.

I think I've decided on my courses for the first semester. I just need to look it over again, but probably the Freshman Seminar, Elementary German (Au revoir, Francais et/und Guten Tag, Deutch), The Art of the Play, and Intro to Psych. So much to do, so little that I'm actually doing...
