Your Kissing Purity Score: 37% Pure

You're not one to kiss and tell...

But word is, you kiss pretty well.
Kissing Purity Test
Mmm...

I'm rereading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince...does anyone else make anything out of the fact that in every book, everyone's all "Harry! You look just like your dad. But ah! how you have your mother's eyes..." I mean, it happens whenever a new character over thirty-five is introduced. So...do you think that in the last book, we find out that Oops! James isn't Harry's father after all? I'm sure that that's not the case, but it really seems deliberate on her part. Perhaps I'm focusing on the wrong things here. On the other hand...thinking about how everyone keeps yelling "Tobey Maguire!" and "Rob Thomas!" and "John Lennon!" and "Doug Storm!" and a slew of other people at me, I guess it's normal. Just strikes me as odd, is a..

Also, I was watching Fox earlier, and they were advertising the Family Guy movie as a "90 minute season finale". Umm...how about no? Just...no. That's not a finale. Actually, I just want to segue into talking about the show itself. I am very conflicted when it comes to Family Guy, because as much as I want to decry the show as over-rated, trite and sophomoric, I still often enough find it funny despite myself. And I don't know why, because it's just such a low show. Most TV shows mine humor out of ridiculous or obtuse characters (Ed, All in the Family), the absurd situations they find themselves themselves in (Frasier, Seinfeld), punchy writing (The West Wing, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) or some combination thereof (Arrested Development, The Simpsons). Family Guy, however, gets 90% of its jokes from constant non sequiturs that do nothing to help the story except provide a cheap laugh, often under the assumption that if it's shocking, it's automatically edgy, and if it's edgy, it's automatically funny. And sometimes they are, and other times they're not, and I'm not offended by the fact that Elmer just killed Bugs and is dragging him off in a pile of blood. I'm just offended that I'm supposed to be entertained by something that aims so low, and that so many people are not just drawn to but enthralled by a show that forgoes whit, charm, personality and subtlety for shock and crudeness. And I really don't know how I can say this all if I actually have been known to enjoy it, but I guess it seems like everyone talks about either a show that passes nastiness as jokes or a movie (Napoleon Dynamite) so dry that it forgot to even tell a joke, and I, for one, do not understand.

Finally, I'd like to congratulate everyone who's been graduating recently! pacrat530 an' foxeylady202 an' rockstarxqtr an' plantingseeds an' actorboy1235 an'hwagirl an' anyone else I have forgotten or who is not on Livejournal.
