have you ever noticed that things that are more "natural" and healthier are often not only cheaper but also a time-saver? the only difference is that you have to plan ahead. for example, it's healthier to eat nutitious home-cooked meals and the ingredients are way cheaper 99.9% of the time, especially if you price-shop and buy in bulk. if you plan ahead you can make a week's worth of meals and stick 'em in the freezer until you need them. then all you have to do is defrost when you're short on time. the examples go on. so in my opinion when you get tv dinners you're paying for the convenience of not having to plan, budget, and think ahead... in other words, you're paying for the option of being less responsible. interesting.
(not entirely my idea, but my observation and new way of stating ideas gleaned from "the complete tightwad gazette".)
