i often find it easier to live in the moment if i also have something resembling a longish-term plan. i'm not sure why this is, but it seems important and terribly relevant to my life currently.
tomorrow (really, today, wednesday) is my last day of work at simon's rock. today was my last day of lifeguarding ever. my certs run out in december and i'm not renewing them. also, i threw out my suit because it has needed replacing for a while anyway, and on the last day seemed rather symbolic.
tomorrow is also my first day of food-service work... bussing tables at the new indian place down the street from me. the monday after thanksgiving (henceforth "tday") i start at the bagel place also. both will be a welcome change from sitting on my ass in an overheated room for hours on end, but at the same time i'm not sure what to expect from this kind of work, having never done it before.
anybody who has waited tables or worked behind a deli counter before, would you like to weigh in here? give me something slightly more solid than my own vague impressions to go on?
