So you want an update, huh?

Scattered updates:

The house caddy-corner to ours in the back burned down Friday. Around midnight I kept hearing sirens and cars out front of our house, but I didn't think anything of it. That is, until I walked in the kitchen and saw what looked like Armageddon outside of my house. The windows were glowing bright red. I ran outside and saw the 40 feet of blaze not more than a few yards from my house. It was surreal and depressing all at the same time. An elderly couple lived there for probably as long as we've lived in our house. People I knew as a kid. I watched everything they own burn. I watched the backside of their $300,000 2-story house colapse. Ccompletely devastating. What's even sadder is that they didn't make it out alive. The wife was downstairs and the husband was upstairs. She tried to make her way up there to get them, but by that time it was too late. I mean watching this house burn, and to know they were still in there - burning. I watched it burn for about 2 hours, taking pictures.

This was taken from my backyard, not more than 15-20 feet away.

these were taken from our neighbors back yard. the 2 houses are not more than a few yards apart.

the front of the house, next street over.

and for those of you who believe in creepy ghosts and unaltered pictures, check out the white orbs in the pics. perhaps i've captured these people's energy that was still lingering. both pics were taken at different places-one in front, other in back. theres also another pic were i found 2 in it.

Besides that, everything has been going well. I've been going fishing every weekend with Eric out at Whiskey Bay, and those are the most perfect Sundays. We have this little place we go to that's sunny and quiet. We fish off the bridge and boat docks. Seriously, it's a perfect little spot. I've also been out fishing with Jeff and Jeremiah. It's been nice getting out in the sunshine instead of staying couped inside watching the dumb box all day.

Cinco de Mayo was a blast as usual. Started off at Izzos drinking, the Gina and I stopped at the store to buy this blue concoction called ZOMBIE. Yes, Zombie, and yes we bought it because it was called ZOMBIE. Headed over to Christinas where we played dominoes and drank outside on her porch. She cooked for us, and then we met up with Jonalyn to go to French Quarter. Had a few shots of Patron with Amanda, and 2 more margaritas. MMMMmmmm, tasty. I had enough tequila to last. Don't need to drink any more of that for another year. Side note: I always think of Ben with that Albertson's tequila we all drank that night. Eeeewwxxx.

Our house has been redecorated. Since my grandmama is in a retirement community now, she's giving all of her antique furniture and collectables to the family. My mom acquired most of it, including a beautiful 50 year old Wurlitzer piano that's always been promised to me. She's giving that, and most of her vintage costume jewelry to me and some other knick-knack stuff from the midcentury.

Well time is up, the Oblongs are on. Go watch it!
