hey! i haven't visited this site in so long i'm not even going to try to read all the updates. i do want to say though, that i miss hangin' out with everyone at lunch and cuttin-up in class. :-( i guess i'm just lonely for my buddies............ oh, there is a very special announcement i don't think cayliegh knows of, but i have to send it to ali and dana too....
has anyone read the newspaper this summer? there was an article about harry potter 8/18 in the life section. as soon as i can figure how to accomplish it, i'll post it on my livejournal pages. rowling hinted various plot conclusions to a book reading audience a few days ago and in my opinion she may have crashed the whole book.

EDIT
well, i don't want to load it onto a web site to load it onto this site, so if you want to see the actual article, it 8/18/2004 Life 3B of the Pensacola News Journal.

"...rowling gave a reading of "harry potter and the order of the phoenix" at the festival. more than 500 people had tickets to see her read from the fifth book. she's now working on the sixth book, "harry potter and the half blood prince". she encouraged fans to try to piece together future plots, and also urged them to focus on why harry's nemesis, the evil warlock voldemort, hadn't been killed.'There are two questions i don't think i've ever been asked and that i should have been asked, if you know what i mean,' rowling said. "she told the gathering they should be asking themselves not 'why did harry live', but 'why didn't voldemort die'? the second question they should think about is: "why didn't dumledore kill, or try to kill, voldemort?' she said, referencing the headmaster of hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardy. rowling further teased her fans over whether harry's pals, ron weasley and hermione granger would be more than pals by the end of the series. "i'm not going to say, i can't say. i think i've given quite a lot of clues by now on this subject," she said. "you are going to have to read between the lines on that one.""

my conclusions:
-----------------this is only my opinion-------------------------------------------------------
from what hints j.k.rowling gave it almost sounds like she's given away the ending. taking what she said we should be asking ourselves basically, why are harry and voldemort still alive and how after all the battles and all, how has voldemort remained alive (in a way). my thoughts are these: dumbledore said himself that voldemort must have inadvertaintly transferred some of his powers to harry. thats why harry is so powerful and why he can speak parcel tongue (the snake language-i don't know how to spell it and i'm too lazy right now to look it up). we also know that voldemort is weak and has the power to live off other life forms (the first book when he had that double face thing going on with the proffessor). harry also knows spells that he has never studied or seen/heard before (when he defends himself from the professor in the first book and before when he makes the glass disappear and reappear in the snake exhibit. what i think is that when voldemort gave harry the scar, they became part of each other. harry recieved great power and untapped knowledge. voldemort, although defeated for the moment, gained a life-line by means of a newborn, healthy child. that may explain, granted, in an obscure way, why voldemort grows stronger as harry grows up and increases his skill at wizardry. i think the ending to the books will be harry sacrificing himself to finally rid the world of voldemort.
