OOC: Soundtrack
So, I often listen to music when I write. And I have extensive playlists for my characters and their relationships etc. And I make fanmixes for characters, pairings, canon story arcs...well, why not ours? I took the storyline archived HERE and made a soundtrack. Like a movie soundtrack it is semi-chronological and semi-thematic. Most of the songs are meant to flow between scenes/stories and work for more than one character/pairing/situation. I've tried to explain my thinking some, I hope you like it :)
01. Headstrong; Trapt
To play during Cassie's battle.
02. New Divide; Linkin Park
This is the song I listened to while writing the first two stories. Cassie blames herself for her situation because she caused the break from her team(s) and she didn't ask for help before it was too late; Diana blames herself because she holds herself responsible for Cassie's welfare.
03. Testing the Strong Ones, Copeland
There's an angel by your hospital bed desperate to hear his name on your breath (full lyrics); Tim's story, but also the whole week and beyond, they live a dangerous life. But they chose it, like Ollie says.
04. All Fall Down, One Republic
Title song ;) The convergence of Tim, Bart, Cissie and Kon at Cassie's hospital bed.
05. Still Remains, Stone Temple Pilots
Kon's writer used a lyric as the lj-cut for his story, though apparently having never heard the song. So Kon!mun, this is for you.
06. Angel, Sarah McLachlan
Beacon's (Cissie's) song.
07. What About Now?, Daughtry
The rp between Kon and Tim. It also encompasses both of their feelings for Cassie and the group as a whole's feelings for each other.
08. Everytime We Touch, Cascada: Slow/Fast
Mainly Bart and Cissie (and this story) and I include two versions because Bart is speedy even when it's serious times XD
09. Stay With You, Ryandan
It's my Cassie&Cissie song! I've used it before and I even linked it when I posted the story because, yes. It also works for the Tim/Cassie part of that story (so, no, Bart. Cassie is not kissing Cissie, sorry to disappoint) and the idea of moments having new meaning years later was the impetus for the story :)
10. Good and Broken, Miley Cyrus
We're moving to the climax, the others start talking team while Cassie sleeps, as Cissie tells Ollie (yes, in this case that makes him Billy Ray. Don't hit me.)
11. If Today Were Your Last Day, Nickelback
Everyone is reminded of the precariousness of life, and what really matters.
12. The Call, Regina Spektor
Cassie is called home.
13. Wake Up, The Arcade Fire
Cassie wakes up. With lightning. And this song is about growing up.
14. Bowl of Oranges, Bright Eyes
Everything will be okay.
