Character Survey of Doom
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Short and petite. She's still young, but she's tiny even for her age.
2. How old is she? Twelve!
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She's spunky and peppy, so she usually stands up straight in favor of bouncing instead of walking.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Fit. She's not toned or muscled because, again, still young-- but she's very active and has pretty good endurance.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Fluid and smooth. Graceful. She likes ballet.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She's cute and she knows it. Sometimes she uses that to her advantage.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Light.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Blue, short, usually cut to above her collar because it's easier for her to do her job like that. She does have bangs.
9. What color are her eyes? Deep blue.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Besides the bright blue hair? Occasionally, her skin will develop dark, patterned markings. This means run.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Eyes, wrinkles between the brow. She'll crouch over and hunch her shoulders when upset, also.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Bright colors! She likes variety, because variety is fun. But she always completely covers up every patch of skin besides her face-- close toed shoes, long socks or pants, full-arm gloves, and turtlenecks. She likes cotton, anything that breathes and is easy to move around in.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? They fit pretty well and she always looks comfortable.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? 'On the job' requires dark cloaks and theatrical masks. She wears this because it's like dressing up and is rather fun.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? ... She's twelve >|
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Higher pitched, cheerful, always heartfelt.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She speaks really fast when she gets excited. She talks easily, rarely has a problem finding words-- but usually when she says things, she says exactly what she means and doesn't ramble too much.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? ...She gives everyone in her 'family' a Japanese honorific, like '-nii' or '-nee', even though they aren't technically related. I won't actually... RP this because she won't actually be speaking in Japanese in RP, so.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? Japanese :| She knows a little bit of english.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nope.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? Very good at making things up on the spot, because she always speaks what's in her heart. She never has trouble being honest.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? More eloquent. You can tell she really believes what she says. The only time she will start to stumble is when she's doubting something about herself.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? She's fairly clever; can figure out strategies for new situations pretty fast. She's still learning the books, but she can survive on the street if need be and has.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? Thinks on her feet. She's capricious and deals with the consequences later.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Intuitive. Idealistic. She has a sunny view of the world, despite what she does, and believes that everyone is inherently good. This colors all of her decisions and actions.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Not... much. She's had a little bit of tutoring from the people she follows, but it's not a huge priority to them or her right now.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Fighting. Assassination. Stealth. Infiltration. And making frands :| She is always interested in making friends. She also is deeply concerned with learning to control her powers someday.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? She seems like an extrovert, but honestly, there's a lot of aspects she never even lets herself see or deal with, concerning herself. She wants to believe she's happy, so she is. Someone told her once to get up and stop crying, and she never wants to disappoint him.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? She's pretty even tempered, keeps a level head even when people around her are getting upset. She does get her feelings hurt easily and will retreat if yelled at or ignored. Still, she is fairly cheerful and upbeat, pretty constantly.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Enthusiastic! Omg new people please come be her friend hi can she know everything about you?
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Act. She takes it upon herself to keep everyone happy and make sure they don't fall into the grumpy-grumps.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Flight. She's trained to fight, and will stay and do so if that's the plan, and will always protect her family. But if it's just her, she retreats.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She's still young and doesn't get a lot of the adult jokes yet. But she likes jokes. Nu makes her laugh a lot. Mu makes her laugh too, but he doesn't really try :|
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Uh she has a few very serious issues from childhood abuse, but no actual mental disorders. She deals with this by not ever thinking about it ever 8D
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Her father dying before she was born. Her aunt and uncle not knowing how to deal with someone of her powers, so their locking her away. Teiji-- rescue, abandonment, retrieval, tough love, death. Mu and Nu befriending her. Ryuusei abandoning them. Bastian finding them.
14. What does she fear? Touching people. Killing someone she loves by accident. Her blood family. Abandonment.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? To be able to control her powers enough to touch anyone without killing them; to have a real family someday. To be able to support her friends and loved ones and protect them forever.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? She's really still scared inside. It's hard to smile sometimes. That she's terrified of everyone leaving her in the end. Also, that she hates jellyfish.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. Doesn't have one. Dad died before she was born; mother died in childhood. She had an adoptive aunt and uncle, but her relationship with them was ... strained. No love. They are also dead now.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No. Cousins, though. She doesn't know about all of them, but they know about her. They don't trust her; she doesn't know what to do about them.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Nope :| And see above about cousins.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Mu and Nu. They are her best friends and her closest 'family.' Teiji was her guardian and father figure before he died. Bastian, Santos, Naoko -- all part of her adoptive family. She would die to keep any of them safe and happy.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? :|a She can't pick one between Mu or Nu. She can certainly tell them apart and she values each boy for different reasons, but they both are equally important to her. They met when Ryuusei dragged two young twins into the fold and Kiki said, 'LETS BE FRIENDS' and then they were.
6. Does she have other close friends? Not really. None her age. It's hard to find kids her age in the places she's been :|
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Pretty easily. She just doesn't have a lot of opportunity, normally.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? They're synonymous terms to her, so. Blood relations, on the other hand, she doesn't really consider family.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Lmaaaaaaao, single.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Newp. She might have a teeny tiny crush on Mu :|
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Mu. Mu. 'Scuse her while she hide in plain sight off and blushes.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Security, trust, friendship. She's not... to the needing or wanting sex stage yet please call back in about five years.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? Nope. In the far far future, maybe. She still half believes babies just magically appear from nowhere.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Not really. Even the people she used to be sent after she never really considered... enemies. She just did what Teiji asked her to do. She's got a lot of tension with her blood family though.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? No and no, so not very.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Sort've. She has a ... somewhat twisted view of morals. Like, killing someone is okay if she was told to, and her adoptive family is never wrong. At the same time she'll always give a stranger the benefit of the doubt and smile and want to help them. The world is sunshine and roses. There is a dark shadow underlying all that, but if she ignores it really hard, then it won't be there. It'll take awhile and a lot of therapy for her to work stuff out.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Curious. She hasn't encountered a lot of different beliefs of lifestyles.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? She hates jellyfish? She has a very good reason, though. She also will irrationally hate anyone who bad-mouths anyone she cares about, even if it's true.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Poor... she's twelve... but she makes do. She lives with a guardian, so she's not in want of anything currently.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Little orphan annie :| Adopted, though. No it has not changed, really, ever.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? In a home with a real family, currently. She's adjusting.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Candy >.> The girl has a huge sweet tooth. Also she'll spend any extra allowance she has on presents for other people.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? Well, she used to be part of a shadowy group of evil people :| She didn't... really enjoy the work, but she enjoyed the family and the feeling of being useful.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Coloring, baking, anything that involves making things with her hands. She also loves spending time with Mu and Nu, playing outside, pretending to be GREAT ADVENTURE DETECTIVES, that sort of thing.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? She eats when she's told to eat. If left to her own devices she will forget to eat real meals and will fill up on candy.
