If you live in Gainesville and aren't a student or have any other pressing reason to be here, it doesn't mean that you are fun and free spirited- it just means that you're probably just coked out.
My love affair with Gainesville (and that Nick boy) is now officially dead. I don't want to deal with those people- and I have resolved to not.
Other than that, I made it into Delta Epsilon Iota, the UF Academic Honors Society. This makes me feel tremendously better. I have always felt in some ways inferior to many of my classmates, but it is little moments like this that are all the validation I need to keep proving myself (to myself. Hah.).
I also like to think that this will look good on my resume and give me a little bit more of an edge when applying to grad school.
I'm also working on a proposal for the Gainesville Housing Authority to begin edible plant gardens in a couple of the parks in the city's largest public housing complex. This is not only time consuming, but rewarding. The idea that this could actually work, and work well, is the first thing that has compelled me to act in a long time.
