The art of the battlefield is not one of blind aggression, but instead it is fought and won before the first soldier sets foot onto the killing field. Sun Tzu once said that if a battle cannot be envisioned as already won, then you have already lost. Miyamoto Musashi once said that the man in front of you is not your enemy, though he draws his blade and attacks he is not the source of victory or defeat. He goes on to say that one's own internal struggles decides the outcome. The fifth scroll of his teachings is the scroll of emptiness and it teaches that victories are only achieved when the mind is empty and without conflict.
The only way to win an argument is not to argue. It sounds simple, but in reality it is very difficult to muster the discipline to master the arts.

Oh believe me, I know it's not easy like it sounds. It is a practice I try and use with the people I care about their feelings.
People I don't however get the full on Avatar of Wrath.
I'm a passionate person and for good or ill I don't want to change that. I'm just glad I've been able to contain my initial "urges" better in the last few years. It's been hard but a lesson appreciated. *nods*
