update
So I've been in texas for a week now. It's hot, it's humid...people walk so damn slow (except around campus)but it's not terrible. I'm slowly getting the feel for where things are, and how things work. Free cable is nice, but my room is wicked cold! I have the coldest damn room on the floor i think. corwin and mara are fun and good to have around. they've given me lots of good hints. The other two girls I work with in the research program are really cool. Mary is from mexico but she's not a real girly girl, which is cool. Brett is wicked cool, I totally thought she was gay, but she has a boyfriend. She's still a bit gay though, and I caught her totally staring at my chest twice last week, so who knows. But that was a bit odd...so anyway, this place isn't too bad. Everyone has a dog it seems. Wierd things...they dammed the colorado river at both ends so they call it town lake. I'm like, hello, just because it has dams in it doesnt' make it a lake, cause it still looks exactly like a river, it's just controlled. So that's kinda funny. None of the traffic lights have sensors, so there can be no traffic and you'll sit forever at a light. that's all i can think of right now. I dont' have a roommate, which is cool, but lonely. I but mary and brett to do things a lot. I think i found a martial arts school. they have women only classes, i'm checking them out tomorrow hopefully. It's kyokushin, japanese with aspects of aikido, tai chi and filipino stick fighting. I think i'll like it, and the instructor is really neat. Alright, getting off here for now. should try to read a little more in the text books. blah
