Kato Shigeaki, a physical therapy student, loves science. He stays at the library for researching a reference over human anatomy, he just can’t let himself rely over the internet for it. For him, books have more information than the internet. There’s a student from different building and department, approached him.
“Your uniform is different, what medical field are you? It’s unique. It’s obvious that you’re not from the nursing department.” The mysterious guy said.
“Under the rehabilitation science field, physical therapy.” He replied.
“What? That’s quite rare. You know, your course will lead you to nothing.” The guy smirked.
“Are you insulting on my course?” he adjusted his eyeglasses.
“No. I’m just saying my opinion. So, there’s no reason for getting mad. I’m just saying that you can shift to another course, like radiologic technology, nursing, psychology and surgery. Why do you have to choose that course?”
“Just shut up, mind your own business.” Why do you have to brag someone’s life? He thought.
“Tell me, why did you choose that course? So, that I’ll shut my mouth.”
“Fine, I was called for this course and it’s my passion to help people regarding their fractures. And look, Japan has few physical therapists, because of the chances of getting their jobs and low earnings. But, not I, this course that I am taking up to are very interesting. And one more thing, I won’t listen to someone’s opinion, so, shut up.” Kato answered calmly and he took the anatomy, pathology and reflexology book for research. The student found him interesting. He took a book about European culture and language, and looked for him again. He dashed and approached him.
“Nishikido Ryo desu. I’m taking up European studies. How ‘bout yours?”
“Why sudden change of attitude?” he questioned.
“Don’t be so cold! I just want to know you.”
“Whatever. Kato Shigeaki desu.” As Nishikido sat beside him. And their starting friendship began.

“What was your hobby aside from studying?” questioned the annoying Nishikido to Kato.
“You know… you should study, I thought you have exams, don’t tell me… you’re a slacker, don’t you?” he said and point his pen on his cheek.
“Fine! I’ll shut up.” He continues reading the book, as Kato studies the muscles parts and uses, and memorizes it. He memorized it as like he’s talking to the air. Nishikido stared at him with a weird look on his face.

“Let’s go home.” Nishikido grabbed his things.
“Hey! Give it back.”
“It’s heavy. What are these things inside your bag?” he put his bag down on unzips it.
“I brought my house so return it back.” And Nishikido laughs like crazy.
“Your house? You know how to become funny sometimes.” He still laughing, as he saw a camera inside the bag.
“I guess this is the ‘house’ that you’re talking about.” He took the camera on his bag. Kato blushed and turned away.
“So, this is your above interest, photography.” There’s no way for Kato to deny this, he just nodded as sign of his response. He snagged it from Nishikido’s hands and put it inside his bag and went home. Nishikido follows him either.

Months later of meeting each other, they usually meet each other at library, sometimes on the canteen. Nishikido stepped his foot on the rehabilitation science department to see him once on this building, the whole 3rd floor has a strong scent of formalin and inspecting some room, he saw Kato at the laboratory dissecting a human body, it makes him shiver but, Kato wasn’t scared as from what he saw from the window.
He’s very passionate over this field. He dashed out of the building, the scent makes him sick.
And there’s lot of times that Nishikido took Kato home. And their relationship gotten grower and Nishikido wanted something more than friendship, as lovers. But, he knew that Kato, studies are the first priority, than something like he wanted. He wanted to know what Kato thinking, about their friendship was.
“Kato-kun!” called someone. He turned his head and look at the person calling him.
“Nishikido-kun. Doushite?” he asked, carrying 3 hardbound medical books.
“Anou, can you come with me? Even just for now, I wanna asked you very important, and it’s private.” As he helped the medical student to carry his books.
“What’s wrong? I need to prepare for practical exam tomorrow; I need to go home early.”
“Promise, it won’t take long, let’s go.” He hold Kato’s wrist and dragged him over to the café where they used to meet every weekends, and they ordered the usual. Kato find him weird, he wasn’t like this before, he become so tense. He brought the coffee on their table.
“What are you gonna tell me?” he asked and wanted to take things quick.
“Okay, haven’t you notice anything?” he started the topic.
“Hmmm? About what?” he confused.
“Aren’t you felt anything?”
“No, wait! What are you talking about?”
“Our friendship. Haven’t you felt anything?”
“No, we’re just friends, right?” upon hearing, it breaks his heart into pieces, so, they’re just friends he just nodded and takes a sip to his drink.
“What’s all this?” he questioned, hasn’t laid a hand over the coffee.
“Shige, I realized something, just like a week ago… I know you can’t believe me, but… I don’t want to stay like this.”
“What are you talking about? You don’t want to be friends with me? I understand. I’m such a boring person, ne?” he smiled, absolutely misunderstood the situation they’re standing to.
“Shige, wait. It’s not that. I don’t want to be friends with you, yes. Because I want us to be more than friends. You know what I mean?” Kato did understand now. He just smirks. He drank his coffee while it’s hot.
“Shige? Are you okay with it? I like you.” He whispered and holds his hand gently.
“Nishikido-kun, anou, I… like… you too…” he confessed with a blushing face exposed.
“That’s good!”
“Wait, if you’re thinking on starting a relationship. I’m not ready for that. Just serve this as our inspiration. Is it okay with you?” he turned his gaze down.
“As long as we’re still like this, it doesn’t matter.” He grinned sheepish.
“It doesn’t matter.” He finished drinking his coffee.
“Let’s go home.” As he took his things and waits for Nishikido to get his things.
“Yep. Let’s go.” As they left the café, with a smile on their face as they granted their little wish unexpectedly. Nishikido slowly take his first move to hold Kato’s free hand, it’s pretty awkward at first, slowly, and he have guts to hold his hand gently without using any force. Kato stopped from walking and looked at him, both staring at their eyes and moves closer to Nishikido and kissed him on the lips. He was startled over the kiss, he was about to kiss him back Kato pulled away and pinned his eyes on his.
“What’s that for?” he asked, still can’t believe about what happened.
“Yeah, just a source of inspiration.” He smiled and he across the streets and way home. Nishikido was left with a smile on his face.
He’s really indeed a genius.

Sorry for the mistakes occurred, I wrote this last night then I slept with my laptop with an open MS word, at least I woke up, and mom wasn’t awake yet. Or else I got banned again from writing fics again.
Reason of writing this is because, I wanted to try writing a fic over a student who has a same course as mine, which is Physical Therapy. So I choose Shige who take over that role. And photography as his hobbies, its also my hobby also…
Over Ryo as a European Studies student, I was thinking about if he’s a Applied Science or a Industrial Engineering student. Oh, well… that’s for now.
Off to class…
