long_dragon: SHIGURE YOUR PERCEPTION OF LOVE WTF

Warning: Contains spoilers for the manga.

To say that Shigure's concept of love is a little twisted would be an understatement. What he feels for Akito is love, but it is a very destructive kind of love. He not only wants Akito, he also wants her to want him. He likes it when she's in pain because of him but wouldn't stand anyone else hurting her. He knows it's unhealthy and wrong, and selfish, but he also knows he'll never love anyone else the way he loves Akito. Akito is and will always be his most important person, so he sort of measures what he feels for others with what he feels for her.

For Shigure, love as in Love, is selfish and consuming and even destructive.

Then there's Hatori and Ayame, people he loves in a completely different way. With them it's not a destructive kind of love, but it is still selfish. Shigure wants and expects things from them, and gets pissed off when he doesn't get them. Which granted, doesn't happen often. But still he takes them for granted. Shigure knows that no matter what he does he'll always have them.

S-so, when Shigure ends up in a relationship from which he expects nothing, with someone he doesn't want to possess in any way, shape or form. It doesn't register in his head as love. Even if... yanno, he'd like to help said friend and see him happy. S'up Abel.
