Updates:
1) Chicago is a nice city. The Beat Kitchen is a nice venue. Staff at the Beat Kitchen? Not so nice, except the sound guy. I also managed to find TWO Starbucks, which made me pretty chipper. Decent turnout, but we played at like, 5 PM, so no one was there yet. Lucich is a crazy crazy merch guy and has been getting kids who dont even see us to buy stuff.
2) Minneapolis is a shitty city. Its pretty ghetto and confusing, and we couldnt find the mall of america. Triple Rock was a nice venue except i think about 20 kids showed up, total. $20 for the night. Nice. Actually, the promoter was really really nice, and really smart, hence cutting a door deal with Jeff because he knew no one would show. Ugh whatever. It was Fire When Ready's last night. We all hung around in the parking lot for hours after the show since we were allowed to stick around for Tilly and the Wall after. Oh, and in Chicago, one of the guys in Fire When Ready adopted a puppy that was being beaten by its owners. I wan't a tour puppy now. Or a tour hamster. I wanted to buy one in petsmart but i figured i'd just kill it and then feel really bad.
Oh, and Justin had a major baste in Minneapolis, but I'll spare him the embarrassment.
3) Mankato was pretty good. Kids liked us, and some kids fucking LOVED us. Had a little band bonding after, as well. There were ridiculous lightening storms and I was pretty sure we were gonna die in a tornado, especially after seeing a tornado shelter in the mall in mankato. We stopped earlier than we planned on. I actually have no idea where I am, minus the fact that it is a Super 8 in Minnesota. I also did a pretty good job of scaring Matt into thinking that we're going to die in a tornado too. Maybe socratic thought the same thing because about 20 minutes after we got here, they pulled into the parking lot. The lightning out here is the kind that lights up the entire sky. Cool, but scary as hell. Did I mention I'm also a major wuss? It probably wasn't nearly as bad as I'm making it out to be.
4) Today I will be spending 6/6/06 in Nebraska. I am incredibly excited to see Nebraska. Its the middle of the damn country. I hope theres hardly anything there, uh, except kids at our show. Yeah, that would help.
