I am a regular visitor to this site
http://www.randi.org/ as I find James Randi's debunking of psychic bunkum very entertaining. I sent him the following email, as I hope he will be able to unravel the mystery for me
Dear Mr Randi
As a regular reader of you website, who delights in the way you manage to unravel many of life's mysteries, perhaps you can shed light light on a mystery I have experienced. My question is this: Am I the luckiest person alive? Or are dark forces at work, trying to suck me into a strange otherworldly conspiracy? The reason I ask this is that as I cruise around the internet, I am regularly faced with a range of pop-up windows that confidently assure me that I am the millionth visitor to that site, and as such am eligible for a substantial prize. I find it extremely amazing that this happens to me so often - surely with all the randomness there is around, I shouldn't be the millionth visitor as often as I am?
I presume that there is a logical explanation - but if I am so lucky does that make me eligible for your prize? Or would I have to claim that I intentionally visit sites knowing that I will be the millionth visitor?
I look forward to receiving a suitable (!) response.
p.s. I notice that I have never been the millionth visitor to your esteemed site.
