I did in fact vote for the first time this year. Green Party, all the way across. Obama obviously did just fine without my vote (if I still lived in Tucson, and not his hometown, it'd probably be a different story), although, yes, I am very very happy he won. I wasn't in Grant Park, though. Just a bar with friends. I was going to buy everyone in the bar a shot if he won Arizona, but lo.
I actually really liked McCain's speech. He was light on the BS and jumped straight into the race topic. "Yeah, folks, I lost and it sucks, but we have a BLACK PRESIDENT now, and do you have any idea how lucky you are to be around to see this??"
Never did register for the draft. Sucks, too, because I was planning on going back to school after I passed the age limit (26), but six months before my 26th birthday, Bush slipped a bill through that was on page 8 zillion of most (if any) newspapers that basically stated that if you don't register, you never get those privileges denied to you (that would otherwise have been available after you turn 26). So I can never receive a federal student loan. And there's nothing I can do about it.
Do I regret it? Nah. A guy's gotta have principles. Just another reason to hate Bush.
