Got a job interview today after work.
Taking an assessment test for the FAA in the second week of August. I think I can pass it, which means I'll go to school for 18 months (for free, and I'm pretty sure I get paid since it's the government) to learn how to be an air traffic controller.
I'll probably hear back from this other place I've applied to; even if I don't get the FAA gig, and I get the one with QuikTrip, I'd be starting at about $42K a year. With bonuses and raise(s), it'd almost beat the pants off of going back to college and finishing my degree so I can become a teacher.
....almost. Because, you see, teachers get personal days/vacation AND all the school holidays. And 4 months off a year pretty much trumps working guaranteed overtime every week in my book. Especially if I get stuck on swing like will probably happen if I get the job.
