Here are a few highlights of the upcoming SOUND UNSEEN music/film festival running August 16-24 around Mpls.

1. Opening Night FIRST AVENUE HAYDAY: a collection of never-before-seen concert footage salvaged from the dark corners of the first avenue basement. Bands include Husker Du, Replacements, The Cows, Babes in Toyland, Rifle Sport, Blue Hippos, Trip Shakespeare and dozens more. @ Riverview Theater, Wed, August 16 @ 7pm. After party @ Hexagon Bar.

3. 4. Parties & Events: DANCE PARTY MPLS USA @ Soap Factory on 8/19. Solid Gold & Ghostland Observatory (Austin, TX) perform live with free drinks, make out rooms & more. DESIGN FIESTA showcases 30+ artists at the Soap Factory from noon-9pm on 8/19 and its FREE! Also free, is the FREERIDE the urban bike cruise with plenty of music, bevs, and more.

5. Tickets & Passes available now online (the bryant lake bowl is a small venue so advance tix are encouraged), at soundunseen.com under each movie listing. Passes & single tix will also be available on Friday, August 11 @ the Electric Fetus. Single film tix are $7.00 and $5.00 for students. Passes are $75.00 general, $65.00 students.
