What I am thankful for...

Sure, in my personal life, there are a lot of things I'm thankful for, many many things not limited to the good talk I had with Jerry today, Bee Sea, my family, Megatron and Optimus Prime, Tom Collins, etc etc etc.

But as a librarian and information professional, I am very thankful for the use of TAGS! There are two sites that I currently use that are based on the use of tags. Number one: del.icio.us That's is, just type del.icio.us in your browser. If you're an internet nerd and/or a librarian like me, del.icio.us is not big, brand new news. If you don't know, del.icio.us is a site where people bookmark sites, and assign tags to those sites. You can see how other people use tags, and how they tag websites that you tagged, and you can also find new websites by searching for tags. I am totally obsessed with this site.

Another site is not an information site, but a dating/networking site. Consumating is different than other dating or networking sites in that people describe themselves with tags. And people looking at your profile can add tags to your profile (Somebody tagged me "heroin_addict." Bee said, well, at least they didn't tag you "ice_cream_addict."). There's also random questions that come up every week, but tags are the thing. Also, you are rated throughout the site on your popularity. People can say whether they like you or not, and then the website tells you how you rank on the site. It's completely shallow, but, being recently single and still living with the ex-boyfriend, shallow is kind of nice right now.

Pretty cool, eh. What are some more tag sites that ya'll like?
