Today we went to brunch at Memphis Taproom. Let me tell you about that place. I like it...almost a lot. It's super close by and really convenient for close by good brunch and beverage. Well, last week, we went and my brunch came out cold. I didn't want to be a dick, but I had to send it back because I didn't feel like eating cold eggs...(again). Last time I ate cold eggs, I ended up throwing up until 4 in the morning. Well anyway, they made it over, and then were super apologetic, almost overly apologetic, and then they ended up taking care of our whole check. I found this to be a tad unnecessary, considering Jill's brunch was fine, but I was happy with how they handled things.
Today when we went, we ordered and started to feel like it was taking a really long time for meat (bacon and sausage) and eggs to be made. It took about 40 minutes. When we got our dishes, I looked down, and it looked as though the sausage was merely seared where it had touched the grill, but essentially it was raw. I cut into it, and yes...it was raw. I called the bartender over and thought again about the previous week, and still didn't want to come off as a dick. I intended to say "Do you think that I could have my sausage cooked more?" except as I was talking I was looking down at my raw sausage, and left off the "more" from my intended inquiry. The bartender took it away and came back after consulting with one of the waiters. I asked her if I was being crazy or finicky. She agreed that it really was "fucking disgusting." After getting new cooked sausage, we ate and left. One cool thing that we witnessed on the TV over the bar was this new cartoon on my favorite channel (G4: the gamer channel...nerd). Spaceballs: The Animated Series! Man! it brought me back. Jill let out that she had never seen Spaceballs. We left and went to Target.
We got to Target and intended to buy Christmas ornaments, and maybe a few gifts for various people. I found Flight of the Conchords: Complete First Season on DVD cheaper than it was on Amazon, so I picked it up for my sister and brother in-law. I recently finished watching this show on HBO in Demand, and loved it. I thought my sister and Nick my like it too. Then I miraculously found Spaceballs for $5.50. It had to be done. I can't wait to watch it.
Now I must go to band practice soon. When I get home, I intend on chowing down on a BBQ pork sandwich, and then maybe watching Spaceballs. Before going to bed, I'm going to have to hole myself away in my room with my synthesizer to start my film scoring project. It's due on Tuesday. I don't think that I should have a problem finishing it considering that I'll also have all day tomorrow to work on it. I'm actually kind of excited for it. I picked a really cool idea just the other day. I'll be rescoring Nosferatu the original 1922 F.W. Murnau film...not the whole thing, but maybe a five minute portion of it. I don't know. Maybe if I like what I'm doing I will go on to rescore the whole film for fun.
