When Dahlia started crawling, I celebrated by spending an hour to choose my outfit for a christening. What decandence. Life is so much easier with her growing independence though I have to be careful with my floors now. She loves to put things in her mouth of course but has yet to work out how to spit things out.

I am feeling refreshed after the school holidays allowed me such leisurely mornings and indeed, we extending the holidays a week by driving up to Sydney to let the cousins commune. The roads have markedly improved since the last time we drove; now not so hellish past Albury. The kids enjoyed themselves with the highlight being the eldest cousin's birthday party. I had a few chances to mine some of Thai restaurants and second hand bookshops along King St. Even in autumn I could eat my Thai curry with sweat all over my face the way it should be! I also indulged at a boutique and B stocked up with his fave coffee. But now it's back to the grind.

Hamish has settled back into kinder so easily and seems much happier in himself. Just as well as Kahlil is starting to cough again. As much as I love autumn, it is not the best time for pollution. Our weekend rains seem to have settled the situation for the time being but it will probably become another game of cat and mouse.

This weekend I am planning to plant my drought tolerant Japanese garden at the front. I am so excited about this. I am hoping we can get it all done in the weekend. Wish me luck.
