St Martin Addendum, Action Figures, Life of Brian
This one's not an entirely vegetarian proof entry. The picture behind the cut shows several geese which will by now have ended up as St Martin's geese, the traditional food served on that day in Germany. The reason why I'm showing this picture is not because it's gross or cruel but because I think the perspective makes it somewhat unsettling. I don't know what exactly makes it unnerving but it is.
A couple of days ago, I came across a website which produces political as well as custom-made PEZ heads and action figures ranging from Tony Blair, Bush, Osama, Rice etc. It's quite easy to tell who these figures are aimed at since Jacque Chirac and Herr Schroeder (in camouflage ROFL) are listed as villains. By far the rudest one has to be Britney Spear's.
What really got me though was that you can order your own wedding action figures which will look like you in tux/wedding dress for a mere 425 dollars. Who cares if Daddy is bankrolling...
I read an article about Terry Jones in The Daily Telegraph today in which it was mentioned that the new DVD of Life of Brian contains several deleted scenes which didn't survive the final cut. The one mentioned in particular is a scene featuring Eric Idle as Otto, the leader of the Nazi Jews who have heard about a new Führer.
Terry Jones was quoted as saying that he regrets not having included it in the film but that he felt at the time that it would have slowed down the momentum of the film. Hence, all the scene's related to the Nazi Jews where cut and it seems that someone has been so kind as to put them on YouTube. Judge for yourselves...
