So scariest thing ever tonight. Paul, Ryan, and I just witnessed a freaking hit and run. And just so I dont have to type it up again here is the statement that I typed up.

Myself, Paul Eldred, and Ryan Moothart were stopped at a red light at the intersection of 17th and Hwy. 22 in Salem, Oregon, waiting to turn north on 17th. I noticed a car that was waiting to turn east off of 17th on to Hwy 22. The car was smoking a little from under the hood and the front right headlight and corner of the car had been smashed in. It looked as though the driver had recently hit something. It was a small black car. During this scene my car and the black car were the only ones at the light. As the black car’s light turned green the car began to turn. At the same time a pedestrian (Amie) began to cross the street. The walk signal was on when he started crossing. As Amie made his way into the left lane on the eastbound side of Hwy 22 the black car struck him. His backpack flew up into the air and he was carried by the car past a street sign, I would guess 100 yards. The black car was turning with reasonable speed and sped up after it hit Amie. The car did not stop. I called 911 and explained the situation to a receptionist. After I had parked my own car off the road I came back to the scene and Amie was walking back. He appeared to be hurt but, at first glance, didn’t seem to have any visible serious injuries. I then talked to the officers (one named Guster) at the scene and told them what I had seen.
After talking to the cops they said that since this was a felony we would likely be called before a grand jury as witnesses. Seriously though, this was so freaking unreal!! I'm still in shock.
