I'm so grateful for all the hugs and kind words you guys have kept posting. It's really felt wonderful among all the ups and downs during these difficult weeks.
Now it's my last night in Gothenburg for a week, knock knock and god's will etc. I'm heading back down to Lund tomorrow morning and won't be back until Thursday. Hopefully dad will have improved some more during that time. My sister is coming up here on Saturday, so mum won't be on her own more than a night.
I just hope the new ward works out for dad, and that he can stay there for a while until they move him again. They did move him from CIVA this afternoon, an hour after I'd come up there. But they ended up sending him to that same "in-between" ward he was a few weeks ago. It's good, since the room he's in is staffed 24/7 and he's under observation all the time, yet the ward is slightly calmer than CIVA. Fingers crossed!
It was wonderful to hear him talk a bit more today though, and asking for things to eat! He's longing for grapes and strawberries, but won't be allowed to eat for probably another week. He DID get to drink just a little bit today, got some apple juice, and it must have been great to get another taste in his mouth after all this time.
So yeah, some improvements, but we're still cautious. And it feels good that they're taking it slowly with the tracheotomy thingy, and that the cardiologists are involved, and that they're still doing loads of tests on him. It feels much easier to leave dad for almost a week this time, things ARE moving in the right direction!
