Finally saw dad again today, and he was very tired but doing quite well. They made him try the speech thingy but he didn't really have the energy for it in the morning. Then when I came back in the afternoon (after having headed back home to pick up a few things mum needed, and having had a quick coffee with my brother and his wife and discussed the situation) I got to cut dad's toe nails, since apparently the nurses are not allowed to do that (!! ). And dad's nails were super-long so about time somebody cut them. I also tried to trim his beard a bit, helped them out with that, but I'm not sure dad would be satisfied with the result if he had a mirror *g*. Oh well.
Then the nurses were back and made dad sit up for a little while, and THAT made him actually talk a little - he protested a bit and said "orkar nog inte" (= doesn't have the energy for that), but he did manage just for a few minutes, and it was very good for his lungs. He manage to cough a lot and that's also good. And he spoke some more with the nurses which was excellent. But then he was super-tired and almost fell asleep so we left him for the night. Though when mum called the ward tonight he was apparently watching telly from his bed! Ah dad, I'm so happy that you're slowly slowly are getting better.
Now something completely different - have you guys read any of Jude Morgan's Regency novels? Someone compared him very favourably to Heyer, and you all know what a Heyer fan I am.
A Little Folly sound quite fun, but would be good to get a second opinion.
