Family drama and Victory of Eagles

Very lazy day after yesterday's family dinner in Helsingborg. I can't really mix my drink nowadays, and it didn't help that I ended up smoking three cigarettes in the middle of all the drama. My lungs where not happy this morning (or rather afternoon, since I slept well past 12 today). My sister and I went to our favourite cousin for dinner and ended talking about all the wedding hysteria. I cried a lot. My sister tried to keep cool and explain what had happened. And that we love our cousin very very much even if his dad has been such a pillock this last week. Still don't know how the drama will end. If we will attend the wedding or not. My brother is adamant that he won't. Mum kind of want to, but kind of also don't. Dad don't care. I am very divided, this whole thing has been handled so bad that I'm fed up with it all, yet I do care for my cousin's sake. Argh. This family business is such a soap.

But the good thing about today is that I finished Victory of Eagles!! Oh Laurence, so noble, such suffering, such pigheadedness.. And Temeraire really comes into his own here. But I still think the book could have been longer, and I wanted more Granby!! But I suppose that is my fangirl heart that speaks, and she has to be satisfied with fanfic. But OH MY GOD for that scene where Tharkay arrives at the raiding party and refuses to behave against his own morals and really speaks his mind to Laurence. The tension, one could cut it with a knife. And then the end.. oh.. WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK ACTUALLY COMING OUT??? It was very much the book of the dragons, wasn't it? All the wonderful new dragons from the breeding grounds, Iskierka's antics, Arkady and his ferals.. they all really took charge of the action.
