More the Middleman squee

So, how much do I love the Middleman? Boy-band episode ruled.
Female characters who talk to each other and DO things. A 14-year old girl who's first a genius evil alien but then perhaps not so evil. An amazing older woman android who dies (but comes back as version 2, same BEST actress ever) and just might be the best droid ever, - Ida rules- a totally stupid yet fantastic Star Wars rip-off homage, and just SO much fun. And Wendy Watson, how much don't I love you. You are smart and say the best things and you love your friends very very much. God, this series is SO made for us fangirls. And why doesn't IMDB list the guy who played the Physics professor? I recognized hi from somewhere, please tell me??? And the Middleman himself feels VERY strongly against plagiarism. *g*. Oh my new shiny show, this just gets better and better. The completely ridiculous alien Boy-band was just the icing on the cake here.

Oh and where can I find that handy feminist TV/film critical list with the "this is a good feminist show if...", I simplify, but you all know what I mean, the thing about having two female characters talking to each other for longer than a certain time about something else than the male hero? where is that from? Why can't I remember???

ETA: with links from
silk_knickers, I was looking for the Bechdel test, from the comic Dykes to Look Out For, and here is the strip The Rule.

The Rule says the character won't watch a film unless:
  1. It has to have at least two women in it,
  2. Who talk to each other,
  3. About something besides a man.

tv, squee, the middleman, the bechdel test
