I'm still awake, which kind of sucks. I want to buy these two pirate novels soo much;
Brethren: Raised by Wolves and
Matelots: Raised by Wolves Volume 2. The two chapters
available at the publisher's page were very promising. Looks like there's quite a lot of research behind them too. I liked the feel of comradeship, and the political undertones in the excerpts. They talked about slavery and war in ways that Pirates of the Caribbean only hinted at, and so messed up in film nr 3. I just hope they live up to their hype, looks like both novels are of the 500+ pages sort, and I still have a certain aversion for too long books (just like I don't like films that never end, yes I am looking at you PotC3). But I still want to get them, especially since the second volume uses my favourite pirate picture for it's cover. Howard Pyle's Marooned Pirate is just so pretty.
