Well, the Red Sox's post season life lives on. Another place on the wild card spot, another year where the Yankees wins the division. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter as long as we win the World Series again, everything'll be okay.
Lastnight, I went to the Ring of Honor show at the New Yorker Hotel ballroom. I've been dying to see this show ever since Ring of Honor announced that they are bring in Japanese wrestler, Kenta Kobashi. Kobashi is considered one of the greatest wrestler of all time. In Japan, they call him one of the 4 pillars of heaven (along with Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue, and Mitsuharu Misawa. I however calls those 4 the lords of the ring. So upon hearing that I can see him live in the states made me giddy like a school girl.
Before the show, I meet up with Brandon and Manny at this barbeque place called "Dinosaur Barbeque" in Harlem. By the time I arrive, it was near the end of the Sox/Yankees game. Due to the score, and poor transportation tips by Brandon, I was rather ticked off. The food however was pretty good and most importantly came in large portions. After my belly was filled, I was in somewhat of a better mood. But being a Sox fan in NYC and with the Yankees winning the division, it didn't make our travelling any easier.
Back to the show, which was pretty good. It was an emotional moment as James Gibson said goodbye to the Ring of Honor crowd and ready to go back to the WWE. His return won't be easy, since WWE is the land of the giants, and Gibson is only a lightweight and was poorly used the last time he was there. He was so under utilized. I just hope his next stint there will be more successful.
After Gibson's farewell came the Homicide vs. Jack Evans match. Homicide, being from New York, a Yankees fan, is nortoriously known to give crap to Red Sox fans. After what happend early in the day, fake or not, I wasn't about to let him bash my team. After his entrance, he took the mic and said, "Enough with this Boston shit!" He then proceed to taking a Sox cap from a ront rowl fan, tossed down and spat it on it. That was too much for me to take. I lept on top one of the chairs near the guard rail and begin to scream at him. He saw me, he jumped on one of the turnbuckles and begin to challenge me go to the ring and vice versa. After about 30 seconds of insults exchanged between us, he got punked out and walked away. At this point, the NY crowd is so riled up, they begin to chant, "Fuck the Red Sox!" I wasn't about to them get away with that. I turned, still on the chair, giving them the Fenway style double finger greetings and fired a barrage of vugalrity that'd make a sailor blush. Man, that was a blast. I do hope that the camera caught all of that, and it made the DVD release.
Back to Kobashi, it was surreal seeing him live. As he and Samoa Joe tore the house down with their match. Kobashi chopped Joe so hard and so many times that the big Samoan's chest turned purple and start to welt about 5 minutes into it. As the This is awesome!" chant echos the room again and again. What amazing atomsphere!
Anyhow that's my weekend. Its filled good times and bad, but lots of moments I will treasure. Especialy if I made the DVD cut.
