Just My Thoughts
I'm back for another one of my rambles. Tomorrow night is the Oscars, I got "Crash" DVD sitting on top of my TV since November and still haven't watched it. I did however watch "Pride and Prejudice" this past week. Is Keira Knightley my new Mandy Moore? I don't think so. However, I do think she's very attractive and is a great young actress. Her performance as Elizabeth was terrific, manage to show that feminism power while retained that 1980s thinking as a woman of that era. Being both hard and soft at the same time. Thus made her protrait of the classic Jane Austen well. Yes, I am very biased towards, and haven't seen any of the other actresses performances, I do hope Knightley wins this award. And for those who haven't seen "Pride and Prejudice," I highly recommended. Its not easy fitting that classic into a 2+ hours movie, but the director manage to do, and still stay true to it. And the cinematography of the English country side is simply breath taking.
Now with that out of the way, I'd like to talk about the weather. I know, I shouldn't be pissing and moaning about this subject. Because last year when I was in Boston, it was a lot colder. What made it worse was waiting for the bus in Allston. The bus stop was at the middle of a bridge, where there is a bone chilling wind tunnel, which the winter air made it feel like you are getting stabbed by thousands of ice daggers in the face. And as a New Englander (more or less), I should be made of sterner stuff, but I think since this winter has been so warm and so often, when the temperture does go down, it just makes it that much worse. I hope spring comes soon.
