The Samson Effect
So every newspaper here in New York covered Johnny Damon going to Yankee Stadium for his shave and hair cut. As you know that George Steinberner doesn't allow long hair and facial hair for his players. It finally hit me, and it really pissed me off. Being Jesus in the outfield is/was Johnny D's identity, and by signing to the Evil Empire, he sold himself out.
Initially, when Damon signed that 4 years contract with the Yankees, I was shocked, but not upset. After all, like Roger Clemens, and Pedro Martinez (in a different degree) really given their all for the Red Sox, before moving on. But after seeing the articles, and see Penny Crow (the local Fox news media reporter) talking about who's a sexier Yankee, Johnny or Jeter? It just made me sick. Its so weird seeing Johnny so clean shaven. He was my fav Red Sox outside Schilling, now I can't even cheer for him anymore. Its just so painfully bizzare when it comes to this situation.
Now only if the Sox can do something about their situation about not having a short stop. Oh Theo, why did you leave us high and dry?
