May Updates

May 07, 2007 10:23

I know, you're thinking, "May updates? He's only going to update once this month?" Maybe, who knows? Spontak can get away with it.

Anyway some random updates:

1.) My face is mostly back to normal. Blinking is still sketchy and everything isn't 100% functional yet, but it's good progress. With a little stretching and exercising, I think within the next week or two I should be good as new.

2.) Speaking of stretching and exercising, I registered to run the 5K Race for the Cure in Columbus on May 19th. I've never run any "official" races before, but I know I'm capable of finishing a 5K in a respectable time. Since cancer has affected three of my four grandparents, I felt like this was something I needed to do. I was worried that with the face thing, I'd have a hard time breathing, but since that isn't much of a problem now, I don't have any excuses not do this. So wish me luck. It may turn out to be a lot easier than I'm expecting (3.16 miles in, I dunno, 25 minutes seems like a good goal for starters?).

3.) Work is pretty decent lately. I feel like I'm doing some engineering again (finally), and that's always a plus. I'm putting some training simulations together, so I get to be somewhat creative and sneaky, enough to make the dispatchers think a little bit.

That's about it. Have a great...Monday.
