a year in review. with lessons learned, friendships formed, and the personal journey to accompany it all, here are the definitives.
reuniting with the thailand team in flagstaff. an unexpected trip that started the year off perfectly. hiking, chatting, singing, cooking, and praying with each other about uncertainties of the future and frustrations of the past.
india...the land of a million gods and a million smells. choreography on the moving walkways in munich, showering in sub-zero water, maneuvering the streets of northern india filled with cows/people/bikes/motorcycles, monkeys, and canker sores.
tunnel. lauren and i slaved over our room for weeks yet could not have had a better time doing it. stuffed crust pizza goes down better with a 2-liter of coke.
that one convo with zach. "i'm not going to have this conversation right now and pretend like i don't know."
west 2nd. you guys meant more to me than i could ever express. going to the boardwalk was to this date one of my best memories of my college years; thank you all for how awesome you have been.
the bus ride. for those who went to connections, this goes down in history.
parent's visits to reno. dad comes bowling with the amigos. mom and burt get awful awfuls.
emerald bay. first, memorial day weekend: can we just talk about the denim jackets? next, the birthday week: a surprise party on the beach was better than any present anyone could ever get for me. also, time on parson's with great people, hikes to arrow point, surprise visits with friends in avalon, and realizations of the greatness of the impact that those people and that place have had on my life.
summer in LA. the IT project was revolutionary, and my life won't be the same because of it. i hope that everyone has friends like the mark carters, the patibons, the zunighas, the schells, the kimeths, the chris roberts', the curtis', the derek davenports, the trauths, and the janessas of this world.
the argenta staff. could anyone ask for a more incredible family? amidst our fair share of drama, i exit the department with a handful of the most inspiring people that i have ever met. people ask me if i'm sad to leave, but moving away has meant that family ties are broken. duty adventures, going out, and the front desk convos were unforgettable.
the bible study guys. i admit, we're a pretty ragtag bunch ranging from braniacs to fratboys to rotc guys to computer geeks, yet seeing you each grow and tackle college with such ambition and reliance on God has made me more prould than you will EVER know.
nyc. packed with adventures and laughs and family and friends. IT'S JUST TOO LONG. THEY ARE GOING TO DIE!
a home-cooked thanksgiving meal. "should we thaw the turkey in the bathtub?"
urbana. can i even explain this? 22,000 people and one call to confront a world that the church has ignored for far too long.
