i'd like to think this would be much better if it didn't have to be in this form. and i know it should be 10 syllables per line and in iambic pentameter. but it just wouldn't seem to work. so i have 11 syllables per line, and not in iams, either. sometimes i definitely wish i were creative. i wish i could be a musician or a writer.

As the Clouds Clear After a Storm

To an isle all aglow, the storm came too fast.
To us unsuspecting, especially She,
Who was then washed away, to where we can’t see.
A future so full of hope, now in the past.
Quickly, to search for her, our ship put up mast,
Seeking not to find, but to blame. Was it He
Who left us all wanting to stay and to flee;
Who made her a ghost, a role here most miscast?

Aft’ tears rained down, a bitter pitter-patter,
Sol shined upon us, showed the why and the how:
An ocean so beautiful, she soars there now.
Those unbelievers, or perhaps those who know,
Now had to believe, in order to let go.
Possibly the truth does not truly matter.
