Another Day at Petsmart
So heres a list of all that went wrong for those of you who do not wish to read this whole thing:
- Two new cashiers today, one new girl training another new girl.. um can that really work?
- Met the new store director
- asshole-ish new stocker
- Closed with 4 people instead of about 7
- closed with all new employees
- 103.00 over in one drawer
- FREAK OUT!
Okay so the day started off intersting with me meeting the new store director Gerry, he seemed okay but he made me work the truck that came in right away. No bigger but in like three hours he had managed to run me ragged. In the midst of all of this I asked manager Jeff to drop a pallet so I could get something for a customer, the new stocker Dan interrupts and says Im going to need to wait about 20 minutes while he works all the pallets that are in the way. I gave Jeff a look and pointed at Dan like who the hell does he think he is? Then I told Dan that it wasnt for me it was for a customer, he told me to tell the customer that he is just going to have to wait 20 minutes, I told him to go tell him himself. Jeff was laughng his ass off by the end of this confrontation. A little later Gerry had me and Dan and himself breaking down a pallet. I was cutting up a box and through it in the pile of cut up boxes when Dan walks over and drops another box at my feet and with the cocky-est attitude ever says, there ya go hunny you can cut that one up too. I looked at him and said uh No. He replys "Well Im not doing it" and walks away. WTF did I mention this guy started Tuesday. I was pissed I wanted to beat the shit out of him. Apparently he talks down to everyone including our manager Katelyn, oh yea well let me rephrase that, he is like that with every girl he comes across, that bastard. So I called David for backup incase I need to beat the shit out of him, I know I can count on David. So then everyone and their brother came in and needed my advice it seemed and the new girl was ringing register and today was her first day so she was soooo slow. So then while I was helping two women at once, she kept calling for cashier assistance, but I couldnt get away. Well then the new cashier freaked out and put her head down on the counter and started crying. So like an angry mob broke out in the front of the store. Everything went crazy and I cant get away. So Katelyn (my manager) started paging me on the PA over and over again. She got so angry but I couldnt loose the one woman.... so everything finally went cool again and then we started taking the drawers down in the back office, Katelyn was doing it for me since I was the only cashier tonight... Then she comes out and tells me to fix it... So I go in the back and the new girl was 513.00 short in cash... so I managed to find the money under the register. But then she ended up being 103.00 over in cash. Which is like the biggest problem ever. I was trying to take the other two drawers down and do the go backs and sweep and empty the trash, and do deposit prep all at once. I didnt get it done, the other three employees that were there had to do it for me, and we still didnt get out until 10:10. I was so thankful they didnt leave me. We are scheduled till 10 so technically they could have left. Tonight I worked with Billy the new stocker and Josh the new aquatics associate. They seem cool. But all in all it was a total of 5 of us closing when there should have been at least 7. It was awful. And I get to do it all again tomorrow night, I am the only cashier scheduled to close. IM ready to freak.. Im ready to start drinking or smoling or anything to make this go away.... and I was supposed to play pool tonight with David, but he isnt picking up his phone and now I really dont feel like it anymore....
