Happy birthday to me!
Great day, actually. I worked (barely) today and then had dinner with some friends from work
here (they were closed for a couple of years but just re-opened...food still kicks ass). My husband bought me
these shoes for my birthday (and I never thought he would spend over $100 on shoes for me, even though he does on boots for him, until I pointed out that both of us work on our feet and need to protect knees and backs). My mom and dad got me a bracelet and a new charm for another bracelet along with cake. I get to go to the
Fair tomorrow and see my dad and eat all sorts of bad-for-me things.
I feel much better at 29 than I did at 28. I'm a more confident being - in both myself and my abilities as a physician. I'm also in better health. Sure, my cholesterol is up but I'm wearing pants I couldn't a year ago (I don't weigh myself - I go by how my pants fit). I'm taking better care of myself in general as well. My husband and I have a great relationship and I have many more people in my life that I consider friends. I feel lucky to be the beneficiary of such wonderful things.
Sorry for the lack of posting in general. I'm around but haven't felt like posting. Work was bad this last stretch and I'm glad a new month starts for us on Monday (I head from adolescent medicine to the ER).
I'm going to go turn off the computer, crawl into bed, and finish my
book (because that's what a responsible adult is supposed to do...or something).
